A Period of Silence and Ill Will

BAM! Just like those orange leaves I'm back. After a month+ hiatus here we are. Things are different, things are new. The season is changing. I wait all year for the leaves to change in Portland. We're not quite to the good stuff yet, but I knew it was coming today when I saw these leaves while walking through PSU on my way home from class.

So yeah, SCHOOL. I've gone back to school to take some classes a few times since graduating college, but this is the first time I really didn't want to leave my job. ...And I haven't fully left it either. It's different. It's not bad, it's not awesome. It's okay though. Week three is over and I think I'm settling in a bit. I know what I need to read and what I don't. I know the teachers' personalities and how they're going to test. I'm comfortable.

I'm still running. <6 miles right now, never two days in a row. So far no pain with running, but I did have one day that from the minute I woke up to the minute I went to sleep my hip was bugging me more than I thought acceptable. But that was just one day so we're going to just forget about that. I'm trying to fit in two spinning classes a week and three runs. The spinning classes were going well, but then got put on the back burner when school started. Hopefully my schedule will even out a bit and I can start adding them in again.

In other news... the movie Drive was fantastic. Way better than I expected, but I don't know what I expected, really. I had seen the trailer long before the movie, so didn't remember it at all. I suggest not watching the trailer before seeing it, because I think it kind of ruins it. I can see how some people might not like the movie based on their expectations going in. I really like the loner aesthetic, the sexiness of a movie without any sex in it, and the ending. Oh, the music! I'm not an 80's music fanatic or anything, but the 80's style songs are so good. Here you go...
